Your Title Goes Here

Q: Do I have to be a student at RCB to participate in the show choir program?

A: Yes. You have to be a bonafide student at our school in order for our group to compete at several competitions, including the state show choir festival.

Q: Do I have to take the show choir class?

A: Yes! It is so important to take the class and not miss out on important information and rehearsal time.

Q: If I play sports or other activities, will you work with my schedule?

A: Absolutely! We strongly believe that every kid should get to experience high school in their own way and we support them taking part in everything they want to, but it’s their responsibility to keep up with what they miss in rehearsal. Talk to us more at auditions!

Q: What are auditions like?

A: Over the course of a few days, you will learn some choreography (The video is actually on this page so you can get a head start!), sing about 60 seconds (doesn’t have to be exactly 60) of a song that best showcases your amazing voice, and chat with our directors so they can get to know you a little better (very low pressure!).

Q: Does it cost money to be in show choir?

A: Yes! It costs $500-600 to be in show choir each year, but don’t let that scare you away! We offer a TON of fundraising (many performers use fundraising to pay their entire fee), so don’t feel discouraged. We also seek grants, sponsorships, and scholarships for students in need. Money will never be the reason a student is turned away – we are all in this together! It takes a village!

Q: What is “show choir season?”

A: We rehearse Tuesday and Thursdays after school starting in November and compete on Saturdays in January-March.

Q: Do I get to travel?

A: Yes! We compete around the state and in Ohio. Our end-of-year trip for 2027 is DISNEY WORLD! It’s going to be an amazing year!

Q: What if I want to be involved, but I don’t want to be a singer/dancer?

A: We are always on the lookout for students to be on our stage crew and in the band! Stage crew handles the technical/behind-the-scenes part of our show, and band plays on stage behind the choir! It’s a low-stress way to get involved and have some fun!

Q: Okay! I’m ready. Where do I sign up?

A: You can sign up on the bulletin board outside Ms. Mack’s classroom (Choir Room, Rm. 147) or show up on audition day! We will meet in the choir room after school on May 18th.

Q: Wait! I still have more questions!

A: Go talk to Ms. Mack, Mr. Or Mrs. Welling, or Mr. Rhodes any time!
